• . Gatsby =mysterious -enjoys the casual and routine gossip about him being spread around but only the good gossip. 
•  "stout, middle-aged man with owl-eyed spectacles.."=Man in library →Nick goes on to call the man a criminal because of the car incident. 
•  Gatsby (Imagined)-"florid and corpulent person in his middle years"/a flushed-faced, big bellied old man 
• JB is someone who instinctively avoids clever shrewd men, incredibly dishonest↪ She's fake to everyone in order to please others
•  Nick's cardinal virtue: "I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known."
