HOW I READ!

Representation & Interpretation

Quic Notes:
  • Reading⇒is a particular talent!→Profesional readers are amateurs
  • Amateurs ARE NOT necessarily bad!
  • "Words and Ideas can change the world"
  • Rules led them 2 a certain type of behavior→Fear factor amount the students its still not right to do in class
  • We FEAR what we DON'T UNDERSTAND
  • In literature we have to be able 2 discuss about something in order for us to be understood
  • Analyze= we try to find out what the author is saying because they're dead or we cannot simply ask them
  • MEANING is constructed by US NOT the TEXT
  • Like/Interest= Easier ↠ "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life"-Wise Man
  • STOP Looking for the answers in the text
  • USE technical analysis as a lense when reading texts
  • SAPERE AUDE= Dare to be wise
Today, I read an essay. Now, it was quite interesting. In summary, the essay explored and or discussed the way us people read. Not literally! The text made me realize we read to interet the deeper meaning of the text. In other words, the symbol presented. To add on, we do not just read books! We read paintings, pictures, and even people! In addition, the author revealed it is best to read novels we find interest in because it will make the analyzation much more easier and less boring even. Although, it is said that you should still read novels that do not interest you to try to understand the book's purpose and maybe why other people may like it. Overall, the author made it explicitly clear that us people "read" everyday. In my perspective, the presentation of the essay was eye-opening and simply fasinating the way the topics were brought up. Therefore, I enjoyed it greatly. All in all, once again a great essay! Oh, and key tip: stop looking for the answer in the text.
